Headland Hounds ('we', 'us', 'our') is committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what information we collect when you visit headlandhounds.com or place an order, how we use it, and your rights under UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018.
1.Who we are
Headland Hounds is a sole trader based in Freshfield, Merseyside, England. We sell natural air-dried dog treats online. You can contact us at [email protected] with any data-related queries.
2.Data we collect
When you place an order we collect your name, email address, delivery address, and payment details (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card numbers). When you use our contact form or chat widget we collect your name, email, and message content. We also collect standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited) for security and performance purposes.
3.How we use your data
We use your data to fulfil and dispatch your order, send order confirmation and shipping updates, respond to your enquiries, and improve our website. We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for automated decision-making or profiling.
4.Legal basis for processing
We process your order data on the basis of contractual necessity (Article 6(1)(b) UK GDPR). We process enquiry data on the basis of legitimate interests (Article 6(1)(f) UK GDPR). Where we send you marketing communications, we rely on your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
5.Who we share your data with
We share your delivery address and name with Royal Mail or our chosen carrier to fulfil your order. Payment data is processed by Stripe, Inc. under their own privacy policy. Our website is hosted on GoDaddy infrastructure. We do not share your data with any other third parties.
6.How long we keep your data
Order records are retained for 7 years to comply with HMRC accounting requirements. Enquiry data is retained for 2 years. You may request deletion of your data at any time, subject to our legal retention obligations.
7.Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data; to restrict or object to processing; and to data portability. To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
9.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last revised. Continued use of our website after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
